Healthy Water Healthy Life

Nu H2O Premium Water is natural alkaline spring water originating from Brick House Farm in Howard County, Maryland, which is simply better water. The use of Brick House Farm natural spring dates back to the 18th Century, when the first home-site was built on this rolling scenic farmland. Today, NuH2O natural alkaline spring water is bottled only at the source, which originates from one of the highest quality bedrock aquifers (Cockeysville Marble) in the country.

The calcium-rich aquifers are capable of storing and generating vast amounts of naturally pure fresh water through naturally formed fractures and solution cavities. NuH2O Water naturally blends the perfect minerals, which results in the best tasting, highest quality water on the market. The pristine spring is a natural geologic phenomenon caused by the contact of highly productive water bearing zones, which flows freely to the ground surface, where it is collected in a stainless steel tank.

The pH level is above 7.0pH. Actually NuH2O water is 7.8pH to 8.2pH. It is alkaline water, also known as “Premium Water” such as Evian, FIJI, Essentia, Mountain Valley. All of these “premium brands” charge premium prices for their products.

What is pH?

pH or potential of hydrogen is a measure of acidity. A pH of 7 indicates neutrality, such as pure water. In the most ideal state the human body should maintain a pH level of 7.34 ~ 7.45. “From an evolutionary perspective, being slightly alkaline from a low-acid, high alkaline diet is the natural and optimal state of humans.” American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2002, Vol. 76.

The quality of our natural spring water has been exceptional and that the taste of the water is the best in the country as confirmed by winning the “Gold Metal” – and voted the #1 Tasting Water at the International Water Tasting Competition in Berkley Springs, WV in 1994.

Is anything added to the water?

It is absolutely natural. As almost all waters are, it is ozonated for purity. However, the natural spring water is never touched by human hands, thus eliminating any potential source for contamination.

What will it do for you?

Proper health starts with the correct acid-alkaline balance in your body. The pH level (acid – alkaline measurement) of our internal fluids affects every cell in our bodies. Extended acid imbalances of any kind can overwhelm your body and lead to health complications.

Just as the body regulates its temperature in a rigid manner, so will it manage to preserve a very narrow pH range especially in the blood. As a matter of fact, the body will go to such great lengths to maintain a blood pH of 7.365 that it will even create stress on other tissues, body systems, and organs to do so. Chronic acidity will interrupt all cellular activities and functions – it interferes with life itself. Cancer does not exist in an alkaline body state.

When the pH of the body gets out of balance (too acidic) we may experience low energy, fatigue, excess weight, poor digestion, aches and pains, and even more serious disorders.

Water Quality

How often do you test your water?

One element that is vitally important to the overall delivery and quality of our finished products is the extensive testing. NuH2O water is sampled and tested on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis by independent certified laboratories. The results are sent to various approving authorities for operational permit approvals. These certified laboratory analysis tests include the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Primary Drinking Water Standards, which consists of more than 110 different testing parameters.

Is there sodium in bottled water?

All of our bottled waters are sodium-free. The FDA considers any water containing less than 5 mg of sodium per 8 oz. serving to be sodium-free.

Recyclable Bottles

Are your 3 and 5 Gallon bottles recyclable?

Yes, the bottles and containers that you purchase at retail outlets are all recyclable. Furthermore, if you are a Home and Office Delivery customer, your 3 and 5-gallon containers are returnable, and can be washed, sanitized and re-used up to 100 times over their four-year lifespan. We sanitize and recycle these bottles ourselves in our Home and Office delivery business, where we lead the industry in re-using 3 and 5-gallon bottles

Water Types

Why should I drink spring water? How is it different from tap water?

Taste, for starters. Many people are turned off by the aftertaste that comes from some chlorinated tap water. Then there’s the question of quality. Many now worry about the threat of lead, chemicals or microorganisms in some public water systems. At Nu H2O, we are vigilant about selecting our spring sources; exacting about advanced filtration, bottling and packaging. We have to be—unlike public systems, our water is meant only for drinking. Convenience is another factor. You can’t take your kitchen sink with you, but you can take the delicious, natural refreshment of spring water in an unbreakable, resealable user-friendly bottle—in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. That’s why you see so many people toting bottled water wherever they go. Recognizing that water is an important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, people are relying on bottled spring water not just for its great taste, high quality and convenience—but also for its role in helping them to achieve their personal health goals. Can any water be labeled as spring water? The FDA mandates that only natural spring water from a spring source meeting specific criteria can be labeled as spring water. What are the other types of waters? Purified Water According to the FDA, water that has been produced by distillation, deionization, reverse osmosis or other suitable processes and that meets the definition of Purified Water, may be labeled as purified bottled water. Other suitable product names for bottled water may include “distilled water” if it is produced by distillation.

  • Distilled water Distilled water is purified water that has gone through a distillation process.

  • Mineral water According to the FDA, bottled water containing not less than 250 parts per million total dissolved solids (TDS) may be labeled as mineral water. Mineral water is distinguished from other types of bottled water by its constant level and relative proportions of mineral and trace elements at the point of emergence from the source. No product can have minerals added and still be labeled as a mineral water; the minerals must be naturally occurring in the product.

  • Drinking water Drinking water is water that has been produced by distillation, deionization, reverse osmosis or other processes as allowed by the FDA and is sealed in containers with no added ingredients except that it may contain safe and suitable antimicrobial agents.

  • Sparkling water Sparkling spring waters all begin with our pure, natural spring water and are then carbonated with CO2 for a refreshing effervescence. These can be plain or flavored naturally with fruit essences. No sugar is added.

  • Artesian well water According to the FDA, artesian water is bottled water from a well that taps a confined aquifer (a water-bearing underground layer of rock or sand) in which the water level stands at some height above the top of the aquifer. Unlike a spring, it does not naturally emerge to the surface.

Storage

How long can unopened bottles of water be stored?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates the bottled water industry, does not require a shelf life for bottled water. Bottled water can be used indefinitely if stored properly, but we recommend no more than two years for non-carbonated water, and one year for sparkling water. Where should I store the water? Bottled water should be stored in a cool (i.e. room temperature), dry environment away from chemicals such as household cleaning products, solvents such as gasoline, paint thinners and other toxic or odorous materials, and away from direct sunlight. A partially consumed bottle should be capped when not being consumed.
